“Now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statues which I am commanding you today for your good?” Deuteronomy 10:12-13
Just Tell Me What You Want Me To Do, and I Will Do It!
How many times, usually out of frustration, confusion, or an attitude of giving up or giving in, have you said, “Just tell me what you want me to do, and I will do it!”?
The expectations to complete a task or resolve an issue were just not communicated clearly, the directions were not understood or, we just did not listen, thus our response. The success of the task or issue being completed is at risk because those involved are not on the same page.
In the scripture text above, God has given Moses the Ten Commandments for the second time and then instructs Moses to remind the people of His requirements for them. Requirements given in love and for the people’s success not as rules and regulations given to be mean.
God’s Word, the Bible, the Scriptures are given to us out of God’s incredible love for us. To help us have a full and abundant life. He does not want us to guess or wonder what His expectations are for us. He created us and knows what’s best…period.\
His Word is His Word, yesterday, today, and forever. No rewrites or updates needed. It is our responsibility to read, study, and know His Word and then live-in obedience to it.
Blessings,
