The Sower: August 2019

“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord.” – Psalm 40:1-3

I have been called many times into situations where individuals, families, or groups are looking for an answer to that one question: “Why?” The majority of the time, if not all the time, I do not have the answers people are seeking. I do not know why people get sick when they do or why some can be healed, and others cannot. I do not know why death comes calling when it does or why the weather and the seasons as we have come to know them seem so different now.

I could ramble a bunch of words, big and small; some spiritual, some scientific, some psychological and some, well…just out of the air in hopes to make folks feel better, but I won’t. I will not say what I do not know, but I will tell you what I do know. God loves you! God loves me! God loves everyone. Yes, everyone, and He’s got this!

He’s got it all; the past, the present, and the future! Cop out? No way. God has delivered on every one of His promises, not our desires. Just think what things would be like if everyone got what they desired. Or wait, maybe that is why things are the way they are in the world where we not live.

Believe. Trust. Have faith. God is still in control.
