The Sower: August 2020

“Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Words are carelessly being thrown around by so many folks today. In print, verbally, online, via social media, broadcast media, and on and on and on. Not just thrown around, but dangerously thrown around. With little to no thought regarding truth or possible consequences for the readers or hearers.

It is divisive, hateful, fact less, promoting oneself or one point of view with an unwillingness to even listen to others – words that intentionally tear down, destroy, and cause chaos.

ENOUGH!

Fight the temptation to be drawn into these conversations. Call on the strength and power of God Almighty to “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.” (Ephesians 4:29)

The battle rages, but the enemy has already been defeated. Live in the victory!

…Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:57-58) Amen.
