“Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.” – Deuteronomy 4:39

The world speaks and defines confidence in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary first in relationship to us, personally, you, me (surprise…surprise). 1) a feeling or consciousness of one’s powers or of reliance on one’s circumstances. The secondary definition given 2) the quality or state of being certain, I believe is the foundational definition. If confidence is based and looked at only regarding me and my powers and my circumstances, it is surely a very shaky confidence.

Eventually, being human, I will fait and then what happens to my confidence? We are seeing the result of misplaced confidence in the world all around us today. True confidence can only be found in the One that is immoveable, unshakeable, “…the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) – Jesus!

With my very core confidence and certainty in Jesus, I can live a life of confidence beyond the ever-changing circumstances and idea of power as presented by the world.

Know, take it to heart, the Lord, He is God…there is no other!
